Helloooooo! Week 2 of half marathon training is complete and overall, I think it went well. So, let’s get this recap going!
Monday: Cross Train
Tuesday (3 miles):8:59, 8:39, 8:28. Time – 26:09.
Wednesday (30 minute tempo): Mile 1 (9:21), Mile 2 (9:16), Mile 3 (9:03), .3 (2:18). It turned out to not be a tempo run at all, but at least I got the miles in.
Thursday (3 miles): 8:50, 9:05, 8:27. Time – 26:24.
Friday: REST DAY
Saturday (6 miles): 8:48, 9:31, 8:55, 8:42, 8:51, 8:16. Time – 53:08.
Sunday (3.28 miles): 9:00, 9:20, 8:46, 2:36. Time – 29:43.
Despite my tempo run turning out to not be a tempo run, I do see progress in my runs. I’m getting a bit faster and I was super pleased with my 6 mile run. Despite a wrong turn that led me up a pretty steep hill on mile 2, my other miles were great! I remember the first time I did a 6 mile run. It took me a couple of minutes over an hour to complete. To finish this one in 53:08 is something that I am proud of.
I am getting more and more confident that I will be able to snag that sub-2 hour time come November! I have officially signed up for the Indy Monumental so it’s game on!
